The Montessori Assessment Playbook is a strategy manual and collection of tools for implementing an assessment model grounded in Montessori and supporting human flourishing.
This workshop, for participants oriented to the Playbook, is a year-long exploration of the child assessment tools, including:
- Early Childhood Family Questionnaire
- Observation Guidelines
- Observing Work Engagement Tools
- Normalization and Adjustment Checks
- Transition Skill Inventories
- Progress Report Templates
Participants will explore and discuss implementation of the tools in seven online facilitated sessions over the course of the school year.
Prerequisite: Participation in the Orientation to Montessori Assessment, or a previous introduction to the Montessori Assessment Playbook.

About the instructor:
Katy Mattis has worked in private, charter and magnet Montessori programs as an Elementary guide, instructional leader, and principal, and is passionate about leaders and teachers having the very best tools to support their work with children. She worked for Denver Public Schools for 12 years as a teacher, Montessori instructional coach, and principal at a Montessori magnet school. Katy holds AMI diplomas in Assistants to Infancy and Elementary, an M.Ed in Montessori Education from Loyola College, and Colorado state teacher and principal licenses.
