Description

The Advanced Child Study Training is a full-day professional development event that extends the learning from the Child Study Training 1, focusing on implementation of Child Study at schools in 4 key strands:

  • Documentation: to review the use of Child Study Tools and discuss best uses. Please bring your questions and adaptation suggestions

  • Writing a strong Action Plan: we will dive into developing an effective action plan for a child who is struggling. Extra focus on writing a SMART goal with a clear method of evaluation, as well as targeted interventions to support the child in reaching the goal

  • Data Collection Tools for Action Plans: Collecting data on children’s action plans can be the trickiest element of the process. Join us in discussing a range of methods for collecting and tracking data aligned with current action plans.

  • Progress Monitoring:  Every 4-6 weeks, Action Plans must be reviewed.  The more children added to the process, the more complicated this becomes.  This strand will focus on strategies for tracking progress on Child Study Action Plans.
