This is a recording of the Teacher Appraisal Webinar held on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019.
As part of the Assessment Playbook Webinar Series, this session explored the teacher appraisal process. We framed teacher appraisal as a process of ongoing professional formation and an animating feature of school culture, rather than a perfunctory, punitive, and performance-oriented measure.
The webinar orients participants to the year-round cycle of assessment, the Teacher Reflective Practice Inventory, and the Teacher Appraisal Instrument as tools for observation, reflection, and coaching for continuous improvement. NCMPS staff les the session and guest practitioners shared how they have used the tool.

Assessment Playbook Webinars
The Playbook debuted at the 2019 NCMPS Public Montessori Symposium, a gathering of 50+ public school leaders and practitioners convened to engage deeply with the issues surrounding assessment in Montessori schools. This series of webinars continues that conversation, and offers an orientation to the tools and a deeper explanation of how they can be used in the field. NCMPS staff and guest practitioners will lead these 90-minute presentations and discussions.
