Discussions of Art: Another Tool for Language and Social Development
Opening with a discussion of an image using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS,) we will then pull back to analyze the method and cover the small differences in how it works with varying ages/stages of children. We will look at the variety of images that allow the strategy to be applied to different subjects including texts for older students. We shall take a look at what data from research tell us about its impact and discuss what teachers have valued about VTS. Questions and comments will be welcomed throughout.
